Powder-Based Metal 3D Printer

An experimental metal 3D printing system that deposits layers of powdered metal and selectively fuses them using a high-powered laser. The printer aims to combine precise powder delivery, layer-by-layer compaction, and localized melting to produce functional metallic parts. Designed as a low-cost alternative to industrial DMLS systems, this project explores the intersection of mechanical control systems, thermal physics, and open-source fabrication.
