eStop — LoRa-Connected E-Ink Transit Display

eStop is a distributed, low-power transit information display built around a LoRa-connected e-ink module. The device receives live bus arrival predictions, occupancy telemetry, and synchronized time data from a central network node or Wi-Fi-enabled on-vehicle puck. Its ultra-low-power architecture supports multi-year battery operation, while the crisp e-ink display ensures readability in all lighting conditions. The system was approved for early testing within NJ Transit facilities, enabling real-world validation of communication reliability, refresh rates, and rider visibility.
