E-Ink Smart Bus Sign

Developed during a hackathon, eStop is a smart transit signage solution that uses LoRa-connected e-ink displays to provide commuters with real-time bus information. The system relies on either modem-connected signs or compact Wi-Fi-connected pucks placed in buses, which broadcast updates over LoRa to all signs in range. Each sign receives synchronized data on official time, next bus arrival estimates, and live bus occupancy, all displayed on low-power, high-visibility e-ink screens. The design prioritizes energy efficiency, easy deployment, and improved public transit accessibility.
