X-Ray Micro-CT Prototype

This project focuses on developing a compact benchtop micro-CT scanner using precision X-ray imaging components and a custom multi-axis motion platform. The system is a prototype capable of capturing high-resolution, multi-angle projection datasets suitable for volumetric reconstruction. The current prototype integrates a rigid rotation stage, synchronized exposure control, and a calibrated imaging pipeline that has already produced successful reconstruction trials. The work has progressed far enough to warrant collaboration discussions with Lumafield, an industry leader in industrial CT scanning, who expressed interest in supporting the project and providing access to professional reconstruction tooling. Development is now centered on improving mechanical repeatability, refining exposure timing, and optimizing the reconstruction workflow for small-object analysis. The project is documented as an ongoing research effort in accessible benchtop CT imaging.
